Understanding the sector

As we’ve worked for many Parish & Town councils over the years we were able to bring our experience and knowledge to the project and come up with innovative suggestions as to what would work well.

Prior to developing the site, each Councillor was using personal or external work email addresses for Council business so we set up a dedicated mail associated with the domain for each member of the Council’s team. Not only is this more secure, but when staff change, it’s easy to transfer email accounts accordingly.

Callington Town Council work proactively to support local businesses – so we suggested building in an online directory where companies, hotels and eateries could upload contact details and advertise for free.

They’d also been circulating a Monthly Newsletter but paper copies offered limited reach as they required local distribution by hand. Using MailChimp, the leading digital newsletter software, we’ve created a digital version of this newsletter so folks interested in Callington and the council’s efforts can get the latest news straight to their inbox – and with the ability to click though and read about subject of interest to them in more depth.

The site has been optimised for all screen sizes so it looks and works seamlessly on any device. Forms and information are designed for a simple and easy experience whether their visitors are at a desktop or on the go.
