The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Medical Committee (LMC) advise, support, inform and represent the interests of primary care doctors (GP's) in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. They had an ageing website that was difficult to update and wasn't being used by busy health care professionals. We've re-energised their entire online presence and developed a new logo and brand image for the organisation too.
By really understanding how an organisation works – and the challenges it faces – we strive to build sites that provide tangible benefits for our clients. In this case, we started by developing an eye-catching new image and “brand” for the organisation that informed the fresh, responsive design elements of their new website.
By appreciating that doctors and their practice managers were using the site to advertise new jobs in the region, we developed a job submission form making it easy for their staff to upload new jobs in a standardised format.
When we ask prospective clients to complete our Project Planner it also helps them think about key goals and outcomes. We can then use this initial brief as a starting point to discuss, feedback and develop a proposal that’s properly costed – and focused on what they want to achieve.
So in this case, an events calendar that offers users the ability to subscribe, a private section of the site where the committee can access internal meeting minutes and a resource section where visitors can download the latest guidance from the BMA all come as standard features.
With integration to their social media sites (that we also created for them), a fully responsive site and training for their office staff on how to operate the website, we are helping to keep busy medical staff in over 70 practices across the county updated and informed.
SeaDog IT have transformed our website and its functionality. The easy web interface for editing and its links to social media platforms has meant that our use of the site has changed completely. Support has been first class.
