The Bacterial Special Interest Group (BSIG) works under the auspices of British Association of Sexual Health & HIV (BASHH) to provide educational and research support in the field of bacterial sexually transmitted infections. They'd developed an educational training DVD for clinicians but needed a plan to sell and distribute it globally. That's where SeaDog IT stepped in.
The BSIG team that developed this educational training DVD is made up of a group of highly trained doctors, consultants and clinicians – world class leaders in their field – but not experts in product sales and distribution.
Whilst there was a target market of health care professionals in the UK, there was a lot of interest being shown in the product from medical staff, nurses and clinics around the world.
It was clear at the outset of the project that building a site where people could order the product was only one part of the solution.
Stocking, shipping & tracking the product was actually the major challenge.
We had a suggestion …
We assessed stock levels, likely ordering patterns and figured that – given a sales commission on each DVD ordered – we could take care of the actual product distribution.
We bought in bulk packaging, stored the stock and then took their first orders via this simple, but functional site. Each quarter, the client receives a sales report and the revenue generated transferred into their account.
Since that first order, we have shipped the product all over the world.
We’ve even attended a major medical conference to help demonstrate, market and sell the DVD.
We’re not suggesting that this is a service that we’d replicate for every client – but it does indicate our commitment to really helping our clients achieve their goals.
We worked incredibly hard to develop an important educational & training DVD for global use by clinicians. Not only did SeaDog IT set up a website that allows clinicians and and nurses from all over the world to order the DVD, they also manage it’s sales and distribution. Over £30,000 of stock has been sold. We simply couldn’t find service like it elsewhere
