Custom Fit
We put heaps of effort & thought into designing websites for clients – custom fit for them with features and design elements tailored to their budget, timeframes and needs. I guess that looking from the outside in the work required can often be underestimated. When we work on logos or refreshing someone’s brand we spend hours bouncing ideas back and forth – even just before we present them with first stage concepts. So many conversation about colour schemes, colour wheels and what that shape or icon is “saying”. Even basics such as choosing the “right” domain needs some skill-sets and an awareness not often obvious to those with other day jobs.
So if you’re in the business of web design, you might be forgiven for getting a little depressed as your social media channel(s) of choice push “build your own” website solutions to all and sundry. For individuals, hobbyists and – importantly – those with a lot of free time on their hands, this may work satisfactorily. It doesn’t often take into account all the other “stuff” that’s critical like effective online marketing, security features, updates and support.
The reality is, if you’re a business or organisation of any scale or vision it’s disingenuous at best to believe that “free website builders” are going to serve you well. If that link hasn’t convinced you – well, please call and we’ll be happy to outline a better way that will save you money, time and a whole bag of hurt. (And yes, we own those trainers – a great / brave example of putting design choice in the client’s hands)
