The publishing company behind the leading journal for the Irish & UK fishing industries had a successful print magazine but no "go to" web presence for the great content they were publishing in their print magazine. SeaDog IT were tasked with building a website that would address the need to get content online and engage a wider audience.
The key to any successful project is the ability to work in a way that effectively means we are all one, unified focused team. We have a tried and trusted process for projects that keeps both us and the client on track, on time & on budget.
We needed to develop a user friendly website that would allow their Editor to post industry news with the minimum of fuss. By setting the publishing date ahead of when she creates her news item, she can prepare content to fit with her schedule and have timed posts publish automatically.
As we worked on the initial brief, it was obvious that whilst the site was focused on industry news, it had to offer a platform to support the Fishing Industry Trade Shows that are key to the company’s business.
In addition, we needed to encourage visitors to subscribe to their magazine – both the paper and the digital version.
We looked at how their competition was using web to market their operations and looked at better ways we could encourage engagement from the relevant audience.
This included links and hook ups to their existing social media presence and clear “call to action’ messages to build subscriptions and advertising revenues – all bundled into a website that works great on mobile.
If you want your next project managed with folks who understand that doing digital right means more business – get in touch!
Such a great experience working with SeaDog IT on developing the new Skipper website! The guys at SeaDog IT were really engaged and responsive throughout the entire process. They followed our brief, made great suggestions where needed and went above and beyond their original remit to meet our needs (and our audience's). The ongoing support now that the new site is up and running has been first class too!
